Chemical Peels

Chemical peels work to break down proteins within the skin and result in exfoliation of superficial skin cells. They remove damaged or abnormal cells in order to replace with healthy cells.

Our dermal peels are a professional strength blend of active vitamins, peptides and antioxidants with carefully chosen AHA, BHA and enzymes to treat pigmentation, congestion, ageing and acne. We use a variety of chemical peeling agents and there is no set regime for each concern. We tailor your treatment program to your individual concerns which may mean using different peels, a combination of peel types and differing concentrations and strengths based on individual concerns, down time and response to treatment. We only use the most advanced range of chemical peels which are safe & efficient and used to treat skin concerns from aging, acne, rosacea, stretch marks and other imperfections.

4-6 peels at weekly intervals are recommended for noticeable improvements. More or less may be required depending on the condition being treated, your desired results, the strength of the peels and home skin care regimen. Once you have achieved your desired results, maintenance peels are recommended at 2-3 monthly intervals combined with a daily skin care regime to retain the benefits. The ongoing skin care program uses advanced skin care products that contain a therapeutic level of AHA’s at an active pH and other active ingredients.

It is important to avoid sun exposure, tanning, exfoliation and non-prescribed skin care products before your treatment as this may affect the end result. You will have been advised by your Therapist of any pre-treatment preparation and home care regime.

After your arrival you will complete all necessary paperwork before your Therapist takes you through to your treatment room where you will discuss the treatment/s you are going to have that day.  The Therapist will then leave the room and allow you to get settled and comfortable on the bed before your treatment begins. 

Your Therapist will commence with a thorough cleanse and will evaluate your skin and customise your treatment to suit your needs on the day. Your Therapist will use differing concentrations and strengths based on your concerns, history and response to treatment.   Your peeling solution will be applied and left on for a set amount of time, then either neutralised or washed off soon after.  In some cases the peel may remain on your face and you will leave the salon with the peel still on.

Clinical peels are not generally painful however you may feel a slight tingling, stinging or heat sensation during and afterwards.  You will be provided with a fan to use to cool the face if required during your treatment.

Skin improvements are subtle and enhanced by attending regular treatments and maintaining your home care regime as prescribed by your Therapist.  Many notice a healthy glow, reduction in pore size, acne, fine lines and a more even tone and texture after just one peel.  Usually peel strength will be increased as you attend your regular treatments.

You may feel a little tingly and may look a little red.

Depending on the strength of the peel you may have some mild skin shedding and peeling. This will be discussed with you prior to your treatment.  It is important to follow aftercare instructions and not pick at your skin.

Your Therapist will apply finishing creams before you leave the Salon and we advise no sun exposure.  Your therapist will advise you on the appropriate skin care routine following your treatment.
