It’s no secret that Dermapen is one of our favourite treatments here at Bella’s. We see so many clients achieve amazing results and regain skin confidence after just a few treatments. What is it?
Put simply, Dermapen is a skin needling system.  A microneedle pierces the skin to naturally stimulate collagen production and elastin with very minimal damage to the epidermal layer of the skin.

 Is it safe?
The Dermapen method is one of the safest and most effective skin needling systems than traditional micro needling because of its unique vertical micro needling technology. It has a superior effect on collagen and elastin rejuvenation. Active ingredients are directly supplied to the deeper layers of the skin – so you get that glow quicker!

How should I prepare my skin before having a Dermapen treatment?
To get the best results it is a good idea to use an active treatment cream containing Vitamin A, C or to allow the skins strength to build up for 1-3 weeks prior to your treatment and for 6 weeks afterwards.

How long should it take before I see results?
Typically, you will see results after the first treatment.  Lasting, and more significant results will occur after 4-6 treatments (spaced 4-6 weeks apart). Your skin will continue to improve over the next 6-12 months after a course of treatments and when combined with the recommended post-treatment care.

Is the treatment painful?
We use a local anaesthetic cream is applied at least 30 minutes prior which ensures a virtually pain-free treatment.

Is there any downtime after treatments?
You may experience facial redness for 12-48 hours after the treatment.  Most people are able to return to normal daily activities immediately after the treatment.

How many treatments are recommended for rejuvenation, acne scarring and stretch marks (general guide)?
Rejuvenation: 3-4 treatments 4 weeks apart
Acne scarring: 4-6 treatments 6 weeks apart
Stretch marks: up to 10 treatments 4-6 weeks apart

What should I expect?
First your face will be cleansed and numbing cream applied and left for 30 minutes. The numbing cream will then be removed and your face cleansed with an antiseptic and your treatment will then commence.  You should feel minor if any discomfort, only slight pressure.  On completion of your treatment a soothing mask will be applied to reduce redness and calm the skin. You will be provided with an After Care Kit with your first treatment if you have bought a series and we will educate you on how to use the products.
